The Labs - Design & Functionality For The NetPen & Wireless-Mouse on Tablet
Within the X11 environment Wacom tablets are best supported, among
SummaGraphics tablets. XFree86 has the best support (Jan, 2000)
for the tablets, whereas XIG Xaccelerated
server lacks of options, but has better X11-performance.
The Wacom Intuos are available in several sizes ($100-$800), whereas the Wacom Graphire
is a good low-cost approach ($80).
High-end (or better said high-price) solution are the PL-300 and PL-400,
LCD screen with integrated tablet, great concept, but with $3,000 indiscussable
overpriced (check keyboard-less I-Appliances which will sell arround
$400-$600 fall 2000).
XFree86

| | With XFree86 the table is supported via Xinput extension, and it
has many options for the /etc/XF86Config, be aware that some
setup programs overwrite hand-written add-ons you did.

GIMP

| | The tablet with GIMP is a great pleasure to paint
and to do art:

We do not sell any tablets by ourselves, we just recommend them.
To buy a tablet we recommend Shopper.com
for price-comperison.
